AI Snow Leopard Paws at You Meme Explained: meadow hop, huge eyes

AI Snow Leopard Paws at You Meme Explained starts with a 2024 zoo photo of Himmel, an October 2026 eye edit, and a meadow hop that holds both paws at the lens.

The meme is easier to misread than a dance trend, because the famous object is a still and the famous motion is a later clip. People meet the huge eyes first, then the caption, then a video of the same face hopping through grass. This page walks that order and says what the TrendShot clip keeps.

We credit @noperscan for the meadow file on the studio. Know Your Meme is the entry we follow for dates. Counts that we did not measure stay attributed to that entry or to the public template writeup.

Where did the still come from?

Before the joke, there is a zoo. Ishikawa Zoo in Nomi, Japan, keeps a snow leopard named Himmel. On 25 May 2024 an X account posted a photo of Himmel behind glass, both front paws raised, body sitting upright, eyes the size a snow leopard actually has. Know Your Meme uses that post as the base and describes a large audience for it. We link the entry. We did not recount likes.

Nothing about that photo is a caption meme yet. It is an animal pressed to the barrier the way big cats do. The paws are already the composition. The later edit did not invent the gesture. It inherited the gesture and changed the eyes.

That matters when you generate. A model that only hears snow leopard may invent a cliff or a snowstorm. The meme's pose is specific: front paws up, face calm, viewer addressed. The meadow hop keeps the address and changes the room from glass to grass.

Who is Mei Mei, and why those eyes?

Mei Mei, also called Tole Tole Cat, is a cat that spread online in 2023. The feature people copied is the eye: almost circular, dark, with a hard white catchlight, large enough to read as a drawing even when the fur is photographic. In October 2026 an edit placed that eye design on Himmel's face and left the rosettes, the ears, and the muzzle in place.

Fans shortened the result to Snowmei, snow leopard Mei Mei, or Mei Mei snow leopard. Know Your Meme's page title is Snow Leopard Paws at You. The TikTok tag that the public writeup names is snowleopardmeimei. Three names, one picture.

The eyes are the part a viewer checks first. If a generate keeps your pet's own eye shape, that is the identity rule doing its job: the uploaded face wins. The reference clip still supplies the wide, innocent stare as an expression and the spotted body as the costume. Do not expect a second, separate eye-swap control.

What does paws at you mean?

The asterisk form is older than this cat. In text roleplay, a writer puts an action between asterisks so the reader sees a gesture instead of dialogue. Paws at you means the speaker reaches, taps, or bats in your direction to get attention. It is not a threat line. The tone is small and insistent.

On this meme the picture does the gesture and the caption names it. The punchline is the second sentence. Posts ask a friend to hop online, name a game, say true friendship, or admit they might be annoying. The Epic Games Store post on 28 October used the game-invite form. The leopard is a delivery animal for a one-line social ask.

TrendShot does not print the caption into the video. There is no burned-in text. You type the line when you post. The clip's job is the reach.

What happens in the meadow hop?

The studio phone is one continuous hop. We measured the file at 16.7 seconds, 540 by 960, with an audio track. The shots below are the order we see in that file, not a second camera angle. A TrendShot export is about ten seconds, so it follows this motion and stops earlier than the credited cut.

TimeShot
0–2 sFace in the grass, both paws coming forward, pink petals high in a blue sky.
2–6 sThe body hops closer. Both pads face the lens. The mouth stays closed.
6–11 sThe head tips. One paw sits nearer the camera. Petals cross the lower frame.
11–16.7 sThe face fills more of the frame. The paws stay up until the file ends.

Which versions are people posting?

Three setups show up in the public template, and they are not the same generate. The pet version turns a cat or dog into the spotted animal while trying to keep the pet's face readable, then plays the hop or a glass tap. The human version puts a person in a fluffy onesie, hood ears, and paw mittens behind imaginary glass. The shoulder version keeps your photo as it is and adds a leopard beside your face that taps the lens and then your shoulder.

We do not have a ranking of which version got the most posts. The public writeup names a hashtag total and a few large X posts. Those numbers are not comparable to one another, and we did not recount them. What we can support is the version on this site: the meadow hop with one face replaced.

If you wanted the onesie or the shoulder leopard, say so before you upload. This maker will not invent them. A headshot or a pet keeps the spotted body. A full-body human photo brings that person's clothes into the hop, which is a different picture.

Same as the trend, changed on purpose, not included

Same as the trend: huge round eyes in the reference performance, pale coat with dark spots, both front paws toward the lens, green meadow, blue sky, pink petals, a calm closed mouth, and a caption you add yourself. The credited handle on the phone is @noperscan.

Changed on purpose: the download is about ten seconds, not 16.7. It is 9:16 with the demo soundtrack muxed in. Price is 30 credits, Single $8.99 or Party Pack $21.99. Failed jobs return credits. The pack lasts about 30 days on this browser. We do not sell a 5-second 1080p pass, and we do not charge 29 credits.

Not included: a zoo-glass background, a human onesie mode, a second character on your shoulder, burned-in caption text, or a promise that your pet's exact eye size will match Mei Mei's. The face follows your photo. The body follows the clip.

How does one tap differ from building it yourself?

By hand, people often make a still first, then animate it, then add sound in an editor. That route can chase the glass photo, the onesie, or the shoulder gag, because each prompt is yours. It also means you write the prompt, wait twice, and fix extra paws yourself.

On TrendShot you upload one photo. The locked text tells the model to generate a new clip from the meadow reference and take the face from the photo. You do not type the prompt. The download already has audio. If you want the glass still instead, this page is the wrong tool, and the prompts guide says that in plain steps.

A successful generate spends 30 credits. Single is $8.99 for one clip. Party Pack is $21.99 for three. If the provider fails the job, those credits come back.
